We enjoyed a sweltering Open Farm Sunday afternoon with up to 300 visitors. Thank you to all who came, especially our stalwart helpers. Everyone adored seeing the busy honey bees in their carefully enclosed demonstration hive, brought along yet again by the wonderful Mr & Mrs Rickett, through the Mid Bucks Bee Keepers Association (also involved with […]
This is apparently the 5th year there has been a National Meadows day, but we’ve only just discovered it! Do join us for an impromptu Sunday afternoon Wildflower Wander and Beautiful Beasties in the Pretty Field (8th July 4.45pm – 6pm). Our Open afternoon is 1st July 1.30 -4.30pm, free entry with fundraising activities including archery and towards the care farming we provide here. Refreshments and BBQ also available. Do come and see our new teaching kitchen and witness the old farrowing building before it is transformed to toilets, disabled changing facility and a wood-workshop.
To everyone who has helped us fundraise for Terrific Toilet Transformations: we have been offered a grant by the HS2 Community Fund to finally get on and do it !
HUGE congratulations to Kieran and family for completing the Marlow Santa Fun Run on 3rd December. We are so proud of them and grateful for fundraising for us: on the day of the race they had raised £265, which was 88% of their target £300. Do please help them reach their milestone if you can!
This is a special club for men who may have had a land based career, who appreciate the outdoors, but whose contact with the countryside is now limited through health or location. Members can decide what to do, be as active as personal ability allows in a farm environment, chew the cud with other members, […]
One of our regular Farm Helpers and his family are participating in Marlow’s Annual Santa Fun Run to kindly fundraise for Road Farm Countryways facility improvements. Such energetic commitment is fantastic and deserves keen support so please do sponsor them.
KW is 21 years old, first started coming to the farm back in October 2015 and […]
Massive thanks to the Rothschild Foundation for enabling us to install a beautiful kitchen in the former sheep Dairy Barn. This means we can do Field-to Fork cookery with our vulnerable young adults and encourage them to taste new things, even master some simple cooking techniques, all steps towards greater independence. We’re just finishing the […]
Peachcroft Farm kindly donated some young turkey poults in July, which spent their first month in the stable. They are absolutely lovely birds, make a glorious vocabulary of noises and are incredibly steady and calm, not to mention vastly grown in 4 months! They’ll be kept beyond Christmas for enjoyment, education and egg laying purposes. […]
Our regular Farm Helpers get fully involved here – do visit our Facebook page for more photos. We all made Kung Fu Crowfighter; a Scarecrow for the Lindengate Social and Therapeutic Horticultural Centre Summer competition and although it didn’t win, it’s now doing a fabulous job in the wheat field! The lads from Talkback have […]
