This year Countryways is doing things a bit differently, and on a smaller scale than usual, for Open Farm Sunday.

To coincide with launch of the new Cycle Way, we will be holding a Pop Up Open Farm Sunday Experience alongside the cycle path on Sunday 14th June.

We’ll have a friendly pop‑up stand right beside the cycle path, on the boundary of Road Farm where you can:
  • Discover our environmentally friendly farming practices at Road Farm
  • Explore our Info Boards with stories, photos, and insights into daily life on the farm – spot additional information boards as you travel along the cycle path too!
  • See Farrier Sam trimming the donkeys hooves (approx. 2pm)
  • Find out about honey bees under the gazebo
  • See Countryways CIC’s adapted trike — great fun for all ages and abilities.
  • Watch our goats grazing the bank (weather permitting, of course as goats are fair-weather animals!)
  • Meet the Farmer to hear about mob grazing and cluster farms
  • Join in wildlife spotting, dissect a barn owl pellet or chalk a picture on the path
  • Cakes and refreshments will be available to purchase, while stocks last

Please note we will not be inviting people onto the farm this year, we will only be based by the cycle path and with a much smaller number of activities than usual.

Whether you’re cycling the whole route between the Black Horse and the Fire Crest, or just out for a gentle wander, we’d love you to pause for a moment, enjoy the view, and learn a little about what we do here at Road Farm.
Come and say hi — we’ll be easy to spot along the way.
